Spring 2020 YSEALI Professional Fellows Program - Sustainable Development and the Environment

The U.S. Department of State's Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) Professional Fellows Program is looking for qualified young professionals in sustainable development and the environment to apply for a six week exchange based in the United States. The approximate dates of the fellowship are April 21, 2020 to May 30, 2020. Selected Fellows will travel to the United States for individually tailored working placements with relevant local, state, and national government, private and/or public sector organizations in U.S. communities, followed by the Professional Fellows Congress in Washington D.C. ICMA will match selected Fellows with a host organization based on their professional background, technical expertise and community challenge. You are required to identify a community challenge related to sustainable development and the environment. You will work with your American host during your program to find innovative ways to solve your community challenge.
Candidate Eligibility Requirements:
Must be between the ages of 25-35 years old
Working proficiency in English
Relevant professional experience, and/or an interest in the environmental sustainability field
Be a resident and citizen of a YSEALI country (Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste, Vietnam)
Accepted fellows will receive a stipend for the duration of the program. ICMA will also arrange and pay for selected fellows' lodging and airfare.
